Look beyond the product name

Products can have similar names but different ingredients or strengths. Check the active ingredient, strength, dosage form and pack size against your prescription or the pharmacist’s advice.

Read the instructions in full

Check how the medicine should be used and any warnings on the label or leaflet. If the instructions conflict with what you were told, ask your healthcare professional to clarify them before use.

Keep a current medicine list

Write down the medicines and supplements you use and share that list with your healthcare professional. Include non-prescription products. This helps them review your treatment with the right information.
